Hi

I had a pair of Sennheiser CX 400BT TW earphones which worked ok with windows 10 bluetooth, i did need to turn the bluetooth on/off in a particular sequence to get them connected. However, then i lost them, and bought a second pair. Ever since then i haven't been able to connect them to windows 10 bluetooth. I'm quite sure the problem is that windows has a record of the old pair, old mac address etc and when i add these it assumes it's the old pair and can't connect. I will be able to add them but when i try to connect it just says "That didn't work. Make sure your Bluetooth device is still discoverable, then try again.". The problem is not that simple.

I went through the registry and found numerous entries for CX 400BT TW e.g.

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UFH\SHC

value name = 66

C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Bluetooth\LE-CX 400BT TW.lnk
C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\BTWUIExt.exe
/deviceAddr=001b66cf704a

from there there are many instances of device address 001b66cf704a

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\DeviceClasses\{00001800-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}\##?#BTHLEDevice#{00001800-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_001b66cf704a#9&1c2175c8&2&0005#{00001800-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}

DeviceInstance: ........

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\DeviceContainers\{a7692064-684f-5e85-8b6f-7d882a327923}\BaseContainers\{a7692064-684f-5e85-8b6f-7d882a327923}

These last entries i can't delete. Is there a way i can delete all these entries? start in safe mode without bluetooth service?

At the moment the only thing i can think is to completely reinstall windows which seems like the nuclear option.

Any help? It's a real pain not to be able to use these during lockdown.

thanks
