Windows 10 Remote Desktop Error, "You have been disconnected because another connection was made to the remote PC"

I am on Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2 trying to remote to Windows 10 Enterprise Version 2004 with the newer Microsoft Remote Desktop Version 10.2.1534.0. The remote machine is a Hyper-V virtual machine hosted on Windows Server 2012. I receive the error, "You have been disconnected because another connection was made to the remote PC"

  • If I reboot the remote machine and immediately try again, I still receive this error.
  • If I use the older Remote Desktop Connection Product version 10.0.1904.423, it connects okay.
  • The newer RDP connects to a similar Windows 10 virtual machine on the same Hyper-V server okay.
  • In all cases that can connect, qwinsta command only shows one Active session.
