Windows 10 Repeated crashes with screen freeze and audio stuttering requiring hard restart

I have a brand new PC which has been repeatedly crashing over the past week. No BSOD is occurring but the screen will freeze and become totally nonresponsive and if any audio was playing at the time there will be horrible audio stuttering. Whenever this happens it requires a hard restart and sometimes the computer will not successfully boot afterwards unless I leave it off for at least 15 minutes.This seems to happen most frequently while I am playing video games (typically right after a map or level finishes loading or in transitions between matches).
