Windows 10 Scanning and repairing c drive stuck 100% complete hdd light not blinking

Tried booting my pc off a hdd out of my girlfriends laptop it decided to scan and repair. Got to 100% complete and has been stuck there for the last hour. The light is not blinking. Should I hard power off ? Will I lose files?
