Windows 10 Screen duplication, freezing, and black screen with full power fans on dual monitors windows 10

Hello,I have been fighting this for some time now. I have a dual monitor windows 10 setup. When I start my computer, it is common for both monitors to display the exact same thing, mouse and all. When I go into settings, windows fails to even detect a second monitor. Screen projecting is also set to off. When looking at the monitor's hz setting, it reads 1. I have started my computer by alternating which monitor I have plugged in, and they both register as 1 hz. My computer will often freeze up and become unresponsive.
