Windows 10 screen goes black after flickering, but can screen mirror. screen is putting itself in screen mirror without being plugged into tv. help

Since a windows update my laptop occasionally flickers and goes black. i brought it to geek squad and they rest my laptop to a previous windows 10 version and it works like it did when i bought it a year ago. however, updates keep getting downloaded and causing the same issue. The i will be streaming and the screen will flicker then stop then flicker than go black. it doesn't happen every time. i could stream multiple shows or just login and it happens at random. after a few times i plugged it into my tv and it screen mirrored like usual. however, it would not allow me to have the laptop scree
