Windows 10 Setting up a Brother MFC-6490CW printer but getting a FEATURE TRANSFER ERROR on Windows 10 64 bit

I have recently obtained an elderly Brother MFC-6490 scanner printer etc. I've downloaded the setup files, can see the printer on my hub but cannot get the drivers etc to download. Each time I try (and I have tried with wifi and with a USB cable) The system starts to install then fails about halfway through (at a guess) with the error:FEATURE TRANSFER ERRORREMOTE SETUP_SYSTEM<WINSYSDIR>THE FILENAME, DIRECTORY NAME, OR VOLUME LABEL SYNTAX IS INCORRECTFor the last week, I've been swapping phone calls and emails with Brother tech help without successI've looked for help but there doesn't
