Windows 10 Shell infrastructure host reports "the device has either stopped responding or been disconnected"

There are lots of posts about this issue - this error message appears in Windows 10 some time (minutes, hours, days even) after disconnecting a phone from a USB port, and seems to be set off by unconnected events. I usually get eight of these messages at a time. The last bunch were apparently set off when I ran an update of the remote desktop client.They are just an annoyance it seems - no harm appears to have been done and one just has to close the message windows.But I do think it warrants some serious attention by Microsoft's software engineers, rather than advising people to waste their ti
