Windows 10 Snip and Sketch crashes when I select the Ruler tool if I have more than one screenshot open

So if I have two or more screenshots, and I click the Ruler button, Snip and Sketch automatically crashes. I've lost MANY screenshots, some valuable, due to accidently clicking the button and losing it all. The weirdest thing is that rarely when I click the Ruler button it actually works. I'm greatly confused about this and angry, since I just made this mistake again a couple of minutes ago, and I had enough. Please help, before more screenshots are lost.
