This is a Difficult challenge to post without the thread becoming very long.
Here goes.
This is a New HP LAPTOP, model 17-ca100ds.
6 weeks into it life it begins to lose file associations. A HP tech support rep. Suggests Malwearbytes so I purchased it and installed it. I find out that Malwarebytes gave me a product key that is over Three years old which is why feature aren’t working. I trash Malwarebytes and put a product I had never heard of but was told it was fantastic. Hitman Pro. Within a week all types of problems began happening.
Suffice it to say a clean install was decided all that made sense.
After 3 hours the machine displayed a HP SCREEN With the little white dots. And it Stayed that way for 12 hours!
I turned it off turned it on and it comes up asking me for an Administrator Password!!
I never put an admin password in it.
Its currently in this condition.
HP will not honor the warranty. Want 480.00 for a board.
Think about this. It wont boot from anything but the ssd. EUFI settings are hid behind a password thats not known. As are most everything else.
This post is already way too long and there is much more to add.
i stand ready for the BEST of you to take a shot at a fix.
I think it going to be a command line fix but I know very little. I know that its on the X Drive.
