I activated bitlocker and reinstalled an audio driver, both required a restart and when prompted to do so after the driver, I selected restart now. First, it showed all the programs I had preventing the restart(which was a lot I wasn't prepared) and I let it sit for them to close properly. Rather then restart, the screen flashed and took me to the log-in screen where I typed in my pin and got back to my dashboard where everything was still in the exact same state as I left it.
