So I have this toshiba laptop that's well over a couple years old now, and I decided to use it as a second screen to connect to my current laptop. So basically after making sure connecting the two worked (it did), I decided to move some old files I wanted to keep to a usb and factory reset the laptop so that it would work the best/ faster for it’s age. This is where the problems started
Keep in mind I went into this already knowing this laptop was a problem since it used to blue screen every so often. But the first problem was the fact that the reset failed so I had to do it again, then it got stuck on “just a moment.” I found online that simply turning the laptop off and on again would work, which it did so that was fine and I continued with the reset, but it was weird.
Now the problem is defaultuser0, I’m stuck on login with that. There was no prompt to make an account or anything. It just sent me straight to the lockscreen with defaultuser0. I tried restarting the laptop, but it didn't work. I even tried to reset it again, but it did the exact same thing (even getting stuck on ”just a moment”) Starting in safe mode isn’t working either. When I try to, the screen turns black for a second before showing Toshiba’s start up screen for maybe a minute, then it goes to the lockscreen asking for defaultuser0’s password.
Oh on another note while i’m here, for some reason I cant type numbers. Only the symbols whether numb lock is on or not, and the number pad to the right of the keyboard doesn’t work at all. This only started after the reboot and when I was trying to enter my wifi password. I was planning on fixing that problem later though.
Honestly if there’s nothing I can do that’s fine, I don’t need two laptop screens and my current one works completely fine (except it did also blue screen recently without any warning signs), I’d like to figure out what’s happening though.
