Windows 11 touchpad stopped working and disappeared from settings

HiMy touchpad suddenly stopped working.Under windows->settings there is no "touchpad" option. Searching for "touchpad" doesn't find any settings either.Under device manager there is no touchpad listing.I have uninstalled the latest windows update and reinstalled it.I have restarted my computer several times. It is a Dell Vostro 7510 with windows 11.Nothing seems to help and I am at a loss. Any help will be greatly appreciated.Many thanks
