Windows 11 Trying to Access an Old iPod Shuffle on HP w/ Windows/iTunes

I have an old iPod (not sure which version but it's from at least 2005 and has the big track wheel on it) and I was just recently able to find a charger for this and get it operating. It is fully charged and when plugged in to my HP Laptop (running the latest version of windows) the ipod shows that is it charging. However, it does not appear anywhere on my laptop as plugged in. It is not showing on the taskbar in the bottom, nor is it showing up on iTunes. What could be the issue? Now, I don't know if this makes a difference but the account for the ipod and the account for the iTunes are
