Windows 11 Unable to accept invite for my 9yr old to microsoft family group

I created a gmail account for my sone and added him to my microsoft family. However whenever I try to "Accept the invite" it throws the error "Something's not right. It's not you but us.". I tried everything but it just doesn't work. Pls help.
