Windows 11 unable to connect to hostel wifi

so my laptop is not connecting to hostel wifi. its very weird because my mobile perfectly connects to it. it shows connected but no internet even though wifi works. And also the hostel wifi has two options, one is open and other is secured but my laptop doesnt seem to connect to either. help
