Windows 10 Unable to remove password - Blank fields are not allowed

I am unable to remove the password on my laptop user account. When I leave the relevant fields blank (to remove the password using ctrl+alt+del or any other method), "I get the following message: Unable to update the password. The value provided for the new password does not meet the length, complexity, or history requirements of the domain." Please help. Thanks.
