My school has a network named (school name)-IoT. Using my school email and password I am redirected to a personal dashboard with my email prefix as the username (so *** Email address is removed for privacy *** would direct me to the dashboard for "johnsmith1"). From this dashboard I can add electronic devices using their MAC addresses, and give each one a password. So, if I buy a new computer, I log into this dashboard, add its MAC address and give it a password (say, "12345").
