Windows 11 Updated my computer, now all my desktop icons are gone, as well as some taskbar icons!

After I updated my laptop (Realtek Audio Driver - 11 - 6.0.9683.1 comes up as the latest update, not sure if this is relevant) all the icons on my desktop are gone as well as some of the icons on my taskbar, which have turned to weird green and white square thingies? It's pretty hard to navigate, and I can't figure out how to get them back. The text underneath the icons is still there. I also cannot see any icons in my file explorer as well. I've read about "tablet mode," but can't seem to find a way to see if my laptop is in that mode or not. I also made sure "show desktop icons" is chec
