Windows 11 Upgrading RAM on Asus R507MA FROM 4 - 16GB with one card

i have an Asus r507ma laptop running on windows 11. It had a 4GB RAM. There is only 1 memory slot. I put in a single 16GB/2.666MHz RAM card. When I checked the memory in the system, it only shows 8BG/1.1MHz. Why is this?
