Hi There,
I purchased a HP branded Windows MR headset and a Zotac 1060 3GB card over the weekend.
The headset works pretty well on a work machine I have despite being slightly under-spec (a Macbook Pro 16GB i7 with an Nvidia chip in), but after having installed Windows 10 (fresh today 19/11/2017, seemed to include FC Update) the Mixed Reality Checker/Portal reports issues with USB 3 (only in 2 ports on the back of the motherboard (clearly marked on PCB and in manual).
I'm well aware of threads such as https://www.drivethelife.com/windows-10/fix-usb-3-0-not-working-recognized-windows-10-creators-update.html and have tried all uninstalling/updating/power options. The Windows MR apps give and exclamation mark next to USB and says 'USB3+ (ie a plus sign) your configuration may not support blah'. Sometimes the MR portal app ditches with an error code ending in 7-7 which is not listed on your site (though another 3 are). Again, as per subject line, the motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 (the clue's in the title!).
Please note I can't install a PCI-e USB3 card as the Zotac GPU card goes over the the remaining slot and the only other is a legacy PCI (not e).
Please also note all things USB 2 and 3 were working fine on Windows 8. This wan not an issue before today's fresh install, not update). I'm very keen to get my MR headset working, and USB 3 is obviously the issue here. I've also read that the FC Update is being changed or restricted due to this issue? If so when will a patch/fix be released. I don't wan't to be relating this tale of woe to smug Apple Mac friends!
The machine is up to spec (all green ticks), it's just the USB 3 issue.
Please advise asap.
Best,
MW
