Windows 10 Use of USB C port for BOSE headphones causes registry of rapid "F5" button pushing as long as headphones are plugged in.

When I have headphones plugged in with a headphone to USB C adaptor my Windows 10 laptop registers a continuous rapid pressing of "F5" and possibly a few other function keys. I Have checked none of the buttons on the headphones are actually depressed, and if I plug it into the headphone jack everything works normally, it only has issues when plugged in through the USB port. I have been on tech support with BOSE and they have no idea. For assorted reasons I don't always have the headphone jack available and thus need to use the USB C port with adaptor as a surrogate from time to time. Presu
