Windows 11 video programs died

It is not unusual, when I receive an update to my software, for another part of the program to stop working properly. Usually, the troubleshooters find the glitch fairly quickly and issue a patch. Unfortunately, after the big update that was automatically downloaded to my laptop a week or so ago, all of my video programs died. I can't watch a YouTube or a news article on-line either. Is anyone else having this problem? I suppose I will have to fix it myself, but I'm not quite sure where to start. Ant thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
