Windows 10 what's wrong with my computer

I plugged the USB portable hard drive into my computer, but after a while my portable hard drive stopped working, and I had to recreate the hard drive and copy the data again. With my computer, I plugged in another portable hard drive and still had the same problem. So what's wrong with my computer?
