Windows 10 When I connect bluetooth headphones to my laptop, system controls to turn volume down turn volume up instead

I'm using a set of Bose QC headphones and a Dell laptop running Windows 10. What happens:1. I connect my headset via Bluetooth2. Typically, when I first use them on a meeting or something the volume is VERY loud3. I try to turn the volume down using either the buttons on my keyboard, or the slider in the sytem tray4. Reliably, the 'down volume' button turns the volume UP in my headphones5. The volume up button also turns the volume up in my headphones6. Sometimes if I use a volume slider within an app (like Teams) it will work to turn volume downThe best thing I can figure is that this is sort
