Windows 10 When I put my keyboard into a dual USB port that it's connected to my tablet it doesn't work but it works when I plug it into my tablet why?

When I unplugged my keyboard from my dual USB ports that are connected to my tablet that supports my key board and plugged it back in.....it didn't work. When I were to plug my keyboard directly into my Tablet it works, but there's a problem with that too. I need a second USB port for my mouse (it doesn't have it) that's why I have a dual USB port accessory so you can see the problem
