Windows 11 When I try to upload my pictures to my picture folder, it just opens the folder but nothing happens. Why is this happening?

When I insert my SD card and it asks what I would like to do with it, I select import to photos. It opens the folder and that's it. Nothing happens. The pictures are there I can see them when I go into the SD card folder. But why can't I just upload them on my computer? I have tried many different things I've found online. Nothing is working.
