When windows 10 had the big updates in 2018 they had a detrimental effect on my laptop. It is a lenovo yoga and running version 1909. A lot of the hardware didn't work properly including the touch pad. Eventually after weeks of misery I back out to the previous version and stopped windows updates. My laptop has run well in the last 2 years withouth them I had no problems whatsover. A couple of weeks ago a .dll file got corrupted. I needed it to run zoom which I now need for my work. WHen I looked into it the only way to resolve seemed to be to get the latest version of windows and all the updates. I hoped that by now the problems would be resolved but they are not.
In no particular oreder this is what happens:
Antimalware running all the time uses huge amounts of memory and sometimes disk.
My touch pad does not work if I open up my laptop from sleep. I need to select sleep again and turn it on with the button.
When I turn on my printer it will not be online unless and until I restart my computer
Everything is running slowly so I have to wait about 90 seconds fro programs to open or respond before the updates it was very quick.
I might as well have picked up a virus. Can anyone give me any help with this or do I just have to install linux and give up on windows?
