Windows 10 Why do I get a message to remove write protect when uploading to Onedrive. I have checked the files and they are not write protected!

When uploading files to Onedrive I get the message to remove "write protect". In file properties I can see that they are not write protected. When I view these files in File Manager they appear with a small grey X on them.These files were once uploaded to an older account of Onedrive which is no longer available.Is there any way to enable me to upload these files to Onedrive. There are quite a lot of such files. (mainly PDF but not only)
