Windows 11 Why do I get "Sorry, this application cannot run under a Virtual Machine" when trying to launch a game?

I have a game installed via Steam (Starlink: Battle for Atlas. Unlike all my other Steam games, this one also requires Ubisoft Connect to launch. Whenever I try launching it, I get an error message saying "Sorry, this application cannot run under a Virtual Machine". Why is this happening?I'm not sure if this makes much of a difference, but both Steam and Ubisoft Connect are installed onto an SSD that is separate from my main SSD where Windows is installed.
