Why does Microsoft continue to reenable real-time protection in Windows Defender?

Save me the nonsense about "needing protection." What YOU need to do is stop downloading files that are not verified as safe. I dont mean through virustotal, or even AV software. I mean loading it up in a VM and hand-testing the software. Noone is after my information. Any actual threats to cybersecurity dont care at all about me. None of them even know I exist. Im not on their radar. We have options to protect ourselves. We do not need Microsoft to illegaly alter settings on a computer it does not physically have access to.
