It wasn't a normal shut down either, it was as if the plug was pulled, a dead stop. Then it started back up and told me it was configuring/installing updates.
I received no warning about having to restart, and I have gone to Settings, Windows Update and Restart Options. The Schedule a time for restart is grayed out so I can not use it. The advanced options give me no option to choose how i want my updates installed. I updated my active hours and saved it but my computer still insists on updating whenever it wants to especially when I am in the middle of a project so I lose everything.
Running Windows 10 of course.
