Windows 11 Why does my Gmail add all my Inbox to "Important Mail" Folder

Have returned to an old Gmail address after nearly two years and which I never used as it is a committee address and was set up by someone else. I have gone through the settings which to me seem correct. Am using it as WebmailHowever all mail received in the INBOX is also showing in my 'Important Mail" folder . I only want to have what I manually put in Important Mail there and not everything. Any suggestions on what to alter to stop this????Thanks in advance
