Windows 10 Why does my Google chrome not open at all on windows 10?

I did some reading online and I found out that Chrome used to work on previous versions of windows. Now on windows 10, I am being highly encouraged to use Microsoft Edge and nothing else. The way I used to open it (which was deleting the chrome.dll file and then creating a shortcut of a copy to open it) doesn't work anymore and I am trying to find out why.
