Windows 10 Why does my laptop show wrong password after trying to use it after it was docked in USB-C docking station?

I use a USB-C docking station when I work from home and I have my laptop monitor set to stay on while closed while in use because I only use my 2 large screens at home. The problem is, when I shut down my computer with the lid closed, and undock it from station, it shows wrong password when I try to use the laptop again, no matter if it is docked again, if it is just the laptop itself, ect. Maybe I am not undocking correctly? I have tried it several times and to get around the wrong password I have to hold the power button on my laptop to reset it.
