Windows 10 Why does my PC only get 2 bars of wifi when it used to have 3 always and every other device also has 3?

Before the summer i bought a ethernet cable that went from my main rogers router, all the way to my upstairs wifi extender, boosting the rogers wifi extenders wifi. I always had super good connection. Now I was away for the summer, and I come back, and now I usually only have 2 bars of wifi. I dont know why but sometimes its 3 bars, but its usually 2. I dont understand how it only has 2 bars when the cable is boosting the wifi extender.
