Hello, I am experiencing this issue where, as the question suggests, the link speed of my ethernet cable changes to 100mbps from 1gbps when the cable is plugged in. I have a gaming laptop Asus Tuf A15 2023 that supports a 1gbps connection with cat7 ethernet cable. My router provides a 1gbps, so it is frustrating that I could only get around 90mbps. I tried using another laptop with a 1gbps connection to see if the cable or the router was faulty but the laptop ended up getting 900mbps so I knew that the Asus laptop was the problem.
