Windows 11 Why does Windows 11 force Bluetooth headphones (Airpods) input quality to 1 channel, 16bit, 8000hz (Telephone Quality)?

When joining a MS Teams call, using the air pods mic forces ALL sound quality system wide to Telephone Quality. You have to disable the hands-free service in Bluetooth settings to use the air pods ONLY as speakers, and my laptop mic default to keep sound quality high.Note that this is a brand-new issue for me as my airpods have worked fine for the last 1.5 years.
