Windows 10 Why does Windows Update give me a hard time?

Okay, I have tried Reddit and I don't want no smart comments, I'm fed up and I want a real answer.My laptop is an Acer Aspire A315-22. Windows 10 Home 22H2. Every time it installs updates, my laptop acts up worse each time. It disconnects from the internet off and on, freezes to the points that I have to force restart and then that annoying "getting windows ready" shows up and it won't make any progress! How long am I supposed to wait? I paused my updates until November 15 and that is my limit. I don't mind doing updates, but it makes the laptop act up so bad that I can't be bothered.So what I
