Windows 10 Why is the File Explorer thinking that my desktop has the path "C:\"

Today I started the computer, and when I got to the desktop I saw some familiar folders. And then I opened one up to see what's up and I see that it opens the folder from the C: root directory. I opened cmd there (I have a custom registry hack that adds "Open Command Prompt here" in the context menu) and I see that the path is C:\. Why is this happening? I'm using Windows 10 21H1 build 19043.1415 on an UEFI PC with MSI motherboard.
