Windows 10 Why won't my computer recognize any dvds?

My DELL Inspiron ONE 2330 won't recognize any dvds that i put into the disc drive (TSSTcorp DVD+-RW SN_208BB). The computer says that the driver is up to date & that the device is functioning normally. I have played all the dvds in a dvd player without issue. When i try to access the disc drive through file explorer to try to access the dvd from there, it will just load for a while until prompting me to insert a disc into the disc drive regardless of whether or not there is a disc in the disc drive.
