Windows 11 Widget Issues Since Windows 11 24H2 Update

Since updating to Windows 11 24H2, upon startup, the widgets pane opens up by itself and there is a temporary black box around the widgets icon on the taskbar which disappears after a few seconds. Is there an explanation for this because I don't want the widgets pane opening on start up? It seems to slow down other startup apps and delays complete startup by a few seconds. Other than disabling widgets in settings (which I haven't tried yet), is there any way to prevent this? Thank you.
