Specs:
GPU: Geforce GTX 1070 8 GB VRAM
CPU: Intel i7 Quad Core Processor 6700k CPU @ 4.00GHZ and Overclocked with liquid cooling
Motherboard: Gigabyte G1 Gaming also overclocked
Ram: 2 sticks at 32 GB at 2300 speed
Startup is on 1tb SSD I have 600GB free on this drive
I also have a 1tb hard disk for storing games and a 3tb hard disk for storing school files.
My process for troubleshooting with no results.
Also, windows 10 is up to date to date as well as all drivers Nvidia graphics card panel is all correct as well. Microsoft DVR, gaming mode has also been tested on and off with no difference. Game boost has also been tested on and off with no difference. I have also turned off all background processes running via background apps found in the settings panel. I have also used windows run msconfig to turn off unnecessary services this gave a slight boost but not for long. I have also eliminated all startup programs this also had a slight boost but not for long. I also checked for viruses and malware there were none to be found. I also performed a disk defragmentation and disk clean up all of this with no results in a higher performance or frame rates returning to normal. Finally, I also tested the old shut down and restart this did not work.
It is mostly performance issues I am having the windows 10 creator update. From bootup used to take 30 to 40 seconds now, it takes 60 to 80 seconds. Opening task manager used to be instant now it takes 10 seconds to load. Opening chrome used to be instant now takes 5 seconds to load. Dragging chrome from one screen to the other used to be instant now it lags behind by two or three seconds. Playing video games such as League of Legends I would have 144 fps constant now it is stuttering and dropping every 2 seconds when moving the character side to side but will only stutter with heavy particles when going straight. When opening task manager CPU usage is at 88% on average and when playing League of Legends it handles 25 to 30% CPU load. Also the c: drive is being overloaded when using moderately intensive programs but slows to a grinding halt when using photoshop.
If I am missing something, please comment, or if you have any thoughts or ideas on how to fix the performance and frame rate drops it would be greatly appreciated. Also if you need screenshots of the task manager for reference I would be more than glad to provide it.
