Hi

I am trying to create a PPP dial-up connection on my Windows 10 Enterprise version 1709 (build 16299.125) which is fully updated.

Previously this has worked absolutely fine, but since the newest update(s) I've been having problems. I believe the problem appeared after the Creators Update.

I'm unable to connect to my device (which is actually an instrument communicating over RS232 using PPP) and get an error.

First I have created a connection using "Communications cable between two computers". Then I try to create a dial-up connection but receive the error

"Cannot load script information. Error 608: A device was specified that does not exist."

when I go to the "Security" tab in the dial up connection properties menu as can be seen below.

I haven't seen this error previously and was wondering if this is the culprit or at least part of the problem(?)

I have tried two different COM ports with the same result.

Is this a problem which has been seen before? I have tried searching the forum and Google but not found a solution.

When I try to connect I get the 633 error.
