Hey guys,

this is kinda my last resort. Im experiencing issues for weeks now.

HARDWARE:

GPU: MSI GTX 1660 Gaming X - 6GB - PCIe

Mainboard: Asus Rog Maximus

CPU: Intel i7 8700K 3,7GHz Coffee Lake - 12 Kerne

Watercooler: NZXT Kraken X62
Power: 750W Seasonic Prime Ultra 80 Plus Gold

RAM DDR4: GSkill Tridenz 16GB (2 x 8 GB) 3000Mhz

SSD 1: M2 NVMe Samsung 970 EVO 500GB (WIndows)

SSD 2: Samsung 860 QVO 1TB

It all started with numerous BSODs (Windows Kernel-Power 41). It was impossible to create memorydump files, even after adjusting dump settings multiple times. Apparently the PC crashed too fast to even create dump files. THis is what I tried:

  • Updated Drivers for CPU,GPU,BIOS
  • Updated BIOS
  • Ran Memtest and every other diagnostic tool out there without finding anything (including chkdsk and sfc scan commandlines)
  • Re-installed windows 10 clean
  • Set RAM from AUTO to constant 2133mhz
  • Then I updated newest Firmware for the Samsung SSD WIndows runs on.... BLUESCREENS stopped. DID NOT HAVE ONE SINCE.

But now, Windows just freezes as soon as im playing a game or run a comparably demanding task. The freezes are kind of strange, too. I can still click some stuff, but I cant open new tasks, and the ones that are open freeze completely some seconds later. I have to force a shutdown in that case.

  • I ran Samsungs MAGICIAN tool (optimize and repair SSDs)
  • ran Windows in CLEAN BOOT (THIS)-> Still freezing. So third party drivers cant be the issue.

Maybe someone here is able to help me out. I am not an expert by any means. I just worked my way through google, searching for similar Problems so far. I would appreciate any suggestions or solutions.

Greetings,

LUKAS
