I have a Dell Latitude E6430 (i7-3740QM 2,7GHz CPU, 16Gb RAM, 1Tb Samsung 850 EVO SSD) that has been running 64-bit Windows 7 Pro SP1 for years. I successfully upgraded it to Windows 10 when it first became available but decided I didn't like it and reverted back to Windows 7. Now, however, I am increasingly finding that apps I want to use won't run on Windows 7, so I am forced to upgrade. But now, the upgrade from 7 to 10 will not work. It gets a good way through (about 75% at last attempt) then a set-up window pops up saying "Windows 10 installation has failed". There is no error code or
