Windows 10 Windows 10 Mail (not Outlook) - I turned off auto download of images but want to selectively download the images in the email

To proactively prevent spammers from putting files on my computer in the form of images in emails, I have turned off the auto download of images in emails.My question is: when I am in a trusted email, how do I see these images directly in the email. I don't want to have to toggle it on and off. And all the help I see from Microsoft talks about the option within OUTLOOK to download images within an email.I am using Windows 10, Mail app, and everything is up to date.
