Hi,
on March 28, 2020 I installed a quality update for Windows 10.
Today (March 29, 2020) my computer didn't start anymore.
1. Windows logo and loading indicator showed up for appr. 2-3 seconds
2. Windows logo vanished and only the loading indicator (very bad resolution - you can see every pixel) showed up on a black screen.
3. Nothing happened anymore.
I restarted by force shutdown. Same problem.
Then I tried to use a Windows 10 USB Stick to repair my system - which caused another problem.
1. I chose the usb stick on bios startup and chose: "Uninstall latest quality update" -> that failed -> It said: "There is an update pending on your system. Try "startup repair" instead"
2. So I chose: "Startup repair" -> PC rebooted - same problem - loading indicator on black screen
3. I started with the USB Stick again -> It didn't recognize my Windows installation anymore - it directly showed me a "install windows" screen ?!?!
--> this shouldn't happen in my opinion - every user would think the system is completely gone now.
4. Then I removed the USB Stick and tried to enter the system repair the "normal way":
4.a. I startet my PC and as soon as the Windows logo showed up, hit the power button to shut it down.
4.b. did this 2 times
5. Then it started and showed "Diagnosing your PC" - "Automatic repair..."
6. Then it showed "Automatic repair failed" - Try advanced options or shut down.
7. I chose advanced options and used the system restore point of March 28, 2020 with the description "windows update".
8. System restore successfully finished and my PC started again.
I suspect the following update package to be responsible for my troubles:
March 24, 2020—KB4541335 (OS Builds 18362.752 and 18363.752)
Just if anyone runs into the same troubles.
BR,
Phil
