So recently my PC has started to run a little slow, it's about 4 years old now so I wasn't surprised. Nevertheless, I decided to soft reset (reset but keep my files) (this was about a week ago) and once it had finished resetting all looked good until I wanted to download VLC and I noticed the Microsoft Store app wasn't showing up when I searched for it. With some more digging, I found the ms-Resource StoreTitle bug along with many more of these 'ms-Resource' bugs that were all connected to the default apps of Windows. As I went into [Settings > Apps > Default Apps] I could see every single default Microsoft app except for Microsoft Edge had the TwinUI error.
Once I saw all these issues, naturally, I went onto the internet and looked up fixes for both of these issues. Many videos, and articles, and Microsoft community discussions later... to say the least, I was pissed. Nothing worked. the
'Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}'
Didn't work, and came up with numerous errors saying that it couldn't find the path to x and y. I did this in powershell administrator, and command prompt. I tried troubleshooting everything, and Windows said everything was fine.
At last I decided to just reset my pc again, with high hopes this time since I was factory resetting it. Deleting all my files, I clicked away and slept until this morning as im righting this. I woke up to setting up my pc as I remembered 4 years ago, and I was finally feeling relieved that this whole mess would be resolved. Until of course, I finished the setup and the first thing I saw was my old wallpaper from before the reset!? (How does that even happen?) And, what do you know, the problems were still here, no email, no store, no mapps, all of them have the ms-Resource issue and the TwinUI as well.
To say the least, I'm pissed, and tempted to send it to a local store to fix, which would be a pain as this is a beefy PC that would take a lot of effort to move it to the closest store (which is still pretty far away, I live in France).
TL;DR: To sum up, I soft reset it (saved personal files) and the ms-Resource and TwinUI 'bugs/issues' began. I tried all the fixes including numerous commands through PowerShell and cmd prompt, as well as, I tried the normal troubleshooting in the settings which said everything was fine. Once again I reset the PC, however this time, deleting all files from all drives and the issue is still here.
All the fixes I have seen are from Summer 2019 and earlier, I really hope I can get a fix as it's March 2020, and I haven't found a fix that is modern so if someone could help me I would be in your debt from the moon and back ;p
Thanks for reading!
