Recently, my new laptop with Windows 10 began installing updates when powered on, despite the fact that I have changed the update options to not download over a metered connection (which my connections are all listed as). These updates were not only unwanted, causing interference in my use of my personal programs, they should not have happened in the first place. Has there recently been a change in how Microsoft pushes updates over metered connections? And if so, why was I not informed of this change by my device?
I would prefer not to need to install a different OS, but if Microsoft is going to force updates to the point that they will ignore their own user settings, I will remove W10 from every device I own.
